રાજયે છેલ્લા દાયકામાં સરેરાશ ૧૦% થી વધુનો કૃષિ વિકાસ દર હાંસલ કરેલ છે. રાજય દ્વારા દેશમાં પ્રથમ વખત કૃષિ મહોત્સવ અને સોઈલ હેલ્થ કાર્ડ જેવા નવીન કાર્યક્રમ આપેલ છે. આ વિકાસ યાત્રામા ચાલુ વર્ષે એક નવીન સોપાનનો ઉમેરો થયો છે. રાજયના ખેડુતોને ખેતી માટે જરુર પડતી ખેત સામગ્રી વિષે માહિતી સમયસર મળી રહે, અદ્યતન કૃષિ વિષયક માહિતી આંગળીનાં ટેરવે ઉપલબ્ધ થઈ શકે, વિવિધ કલ્યાણકારી યોજનાઓનો લાભ ખેડૂતોને ઘરઆંગણે આસાનીથી મળી રહે અને હવામાન અને કૃષિ પેદાશોના જુદાજુદા બજારમા ચાલી રહેલ બજારભાવો જાણી શકાય તે માટે કૃષિ અને સહકાર વિભાગ દ્વારા i-ખેડૂત પોર્ટલ કાર્યાન્વિત કરેલ છે.

આઇ ખેડૂત પોર્ટલ દ્વારા ગુજરાત રાજ્યમાં મફત રી યોજના શરૂ કરવામાં આવેલી છે. આ યોજનાને ગુજરાત રાજ્યમાં કૃષિ અને સહકાર વિભાગ ગુજરાત સરકારના બાગાયતી વિભાગ દ્વારા શરૂ કરવામાં આવેલું છે.આ બાગાયતી વિભાગ દ્વારા ગુજરાત રાજ્યમાં ફળો અને શાકભાજીના ઉત્પાદનમાં વધારો કરવા માટે નવી નવી પદ્ધતિઓ માટે નવી યોજના અમલમાં મુકી રહે છે. તે ધ્યાનમાં રાખીને આ વિભાગ દ્વારા મફત છત્રી યોજના શરૂ કરવામાં આવેલી છે.. આ યોજના હેઠળ ફળ અને શાકભાજી નો બગાડ અટકાવવા માટે ફળ અને શાકભાજી વેચનાર વ્યક્તિઓને મફત છત્રી આપવામાં આવે છે. તેના કારણે વરસાદ તેમજ ગરમીના કારણે ફળ અને શાકભાજીનો બચાવ કરી શકાય.
